Summary
You've created an Issue and now want to assign it to someone else to compete?
Here are some situations where assigning an Issue is helpful:
- Vendor's internal business sponsor - Is the Issue something the internal business sponsor can help you solve? Send the request internally to that sponsor.
- Vendor's security analyst - Did the vendor already complete a questionnaire or assessment? Reach out externally to that analyst and ask if they can help with the Issue.
Steps
Assigning an Issue is simple, here is what to do:
- Open a new or existing Issue
- While in Edit mode, set Assign Remediation Task to Yes
- The Assignee Type field will appear. Select one of the following options:
- Vendor Contact
- Internal Contact
- The Assign and Notify field will appear. Use the dropdown to select from a list of contacts. The contacts will appear based on the Assignee Type. If you selected Vendor Contact, the list is pulled from the Contact section of the Vendor Detail page. If you selected Internal Contact, the list is pulled from all your company's internal users.
- After you select a contact, we will immediately email that person to notify them an Issue has been assigned to them in Whistic. They will be able to access the Issue from the email notification or through their Dashboard under the section, Issues Assigned to Me.
- Finally, once you save the Issue and it is no longer in Edit mode, you will see an additional field, Assignee Issue Link. Although Whistic sends the assignee a notification and link to access the Issue, this link can also be provided directly to the assignee in case they have difficulty accessing the Issue.
