Summary
While completing a questionnaire request, some questions will require you to provide a document. However, you can attach a document to any question, even if not required or requested. The document can be a picture, spreadsheet, PDF, etc.
📎 Steps
- Open the questionnaire request. Go here for help finding the request in Whistic.
- Locate the question and select the Paperclip icon
- A new window will open to select the file you'd like to attach
- Once the file has been selected for upload, Whistic will scan the file for viruses before the file is fully attached. If the question was required, the progress bar at the top will indicate the question has been completed
- Some questions may require a file upload even if the question does not apply to your circumstances. To satisfy the requirement you can attach a blank document and add comments with the + sign as to why the question is not applicable.

Can I upload an Excel file with macros? (.xlsm)
If uploading an Excel doc please ensure that the file is in .xlsx format. The platform currently does not accept .xlsm. There is no restriction on file size.
Can I upload a password-protected file?
The Whistic Platform will not allow you to upload password-protected files. Please remove any passwords prior to attempting to upload additional documentation.
Can the recipient download the file and can I attach multiple files to a question?
Once the questionnaire has been shared with a recipient, they can download the file. You can attach multiple files to each question.
Can I delete a file that was attached to an assessment?
According to Section 4.2 of our Terms of Service. We are contractually bound to retain data that has been shared with other users using the platform. However, data that has been shared can be archived so that it cannot be viewed or reshared in the future.
