Summary
If you've received a Whistic assessment request but aren't the right person to complete it, you can reassign it to a colleague. This article walks you through the reassignment process and helps you understand the key differences between reassigning and adding a collaborator.
β οΈ Before You Reassign
Important: When you reassign an assessment request, you will lose access to submit the assessment, and your current progress will not be transferred to the new assignee.
π Reassign vs. Add Collaborator
In most cases, adding a collaborator is the preferred option because it allows multiple people to work together on the assessment while maintaining shared access.
| Option | You Retain Access | Who Can Submit | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reassign | No | Only the newly assigned user | Transferring ownership to someone else entirely |
| Add Collaborator | Yes | All collaborators can share and submit | Working together on an assessment (no limit on collaborators) |

β FAQ
What happens to my progress if I reassign the assessment?
Your progress will not be transferred to the new assignee. They will start fresh with the original assessment request. If you want to preserve your work and ensure it is shared with your colleague, consider adding them as a collaborator instead.
How many times can I reassign from the email?
You can only reassign once from the email invitation. After that, the new recipient can reassign one more time from their email. For additional reassignments, the original requester must make changes from their Whistic account.
What's the difference between reassigning and adding a collaborator?
Reassigning transfers complete ownershipβyou lose access to share the information back and your progress isn't forwarded to the new assignee. Adding a collaborator allows multiple people to work together with shared access, and any collaborator can submit the completed assessment.
Can I get access back after I reassign?
You would need to contact the new assignee or the original requester to be added as a collaborator if you need access again.
Who can reassign an assessment besides me?
The person who originally sent the assessment request can always reassign it from their Whistic account. If you need help with reassignment, contact them directly.
