Summary
The BitSight integration allows you to import individual vendor security ratings directly into your Whistic account. This integration streamlines your vendor risk assessment process by automatically pulling BitSight scores and displaying them alongside your other vendor information in the Whistic platform.
Once configured, you'll be able to view BitSight ratings directly on vendor profiles and access this data in your vendor catalog and reporting features.

Before setting up the BitSight integration, ensure you have:
- Your Whistic account must be qualified for this feature (confirm with your Customer Success Manager).
- Active BitSight account with appropriate permissions
- Whistic Admin access for configuration
- Vendors already subscribed/listed in your BitSight account
⚙️ Setup Instructions
Step 1: BitSight Configuration

Create or access your BitSight account
- Ensure you have administrative privileges in BitSight

Verify your vendor subscriptions
- Confirm that the vendors you want to track are already listed (subscribed) within your BitSight account
- These vendors will be available to connect within Whistic

Generate an API Token
- Create an API token within your BitSight account
- Refer to BitSight's documentation for detailed token creation steps go HERE
- Keep this token secure, as you'll need it for the Whistic configuration
Step 2: Whistic Integration Setup
- Select Integrations from the Resources dropdown
- Click on BitSight Configure

- Enter the API token you generated in Step 1
- Save your configuration
🔗 Connecting Vendors
Once the integration is configured, users with appropriate permissions can connect individual vendors to their BitSight profiles.

Access the vendor profile
- Navigate to the vendor you want to connect to
- Click Ratings on the left-hand sub menu to modify the vendor information
- Click BitSight
- Click the pencil icon next to Pending
- A pop-up window will display all available vendors from your BitSight account
- Select the vendor that corresponds to your Whistic vendor
- Save your selection
Viewing BitSight Data
After connecting a vendor:
- On the vendor profile: The BitSight score will appear where "Pending" was previously displayed

In vendor catalog and reporting: Two new columns will be available:
- BitSight Rating
- BitSight Rating Date
- This data will automatically update based on your BitSight subscription.

What permissions do I need to connect vendors to BitSight?
You need appropriate user permissions within Whistic to edit vendor information. Contact your Whistic administrator if you're unable to access the vendor connection features.
How often does the BitSight data update in Whistic?
The integration pulls the latest available data from your BitSight subscription. Update frequency depends on your BitSight account settings and data refresh schedule.
What happens if a vendor isn't listed in my BitSight account?
Only vendors that are subscribed/listed in your BitSight account will appear in the connection pop-up. You'll need to add the vendor to your BitSight subscription first.
I'm not seeing the BitSight integration option in Admin Tools. What should I do?
Contact your Customer Success Manager to confirm that your account is qualified for this feature and that it has been enabled.
Can I view historical BitSight ratings?
The integration displays the current BitSight rating and the date it was last updated. For historical data, you'll need to access your BitSight account directly.
