How to Use Attachments
Attaching a File
There are two ways of attaching a file to an Issue:
- Attach File to the Issue Comment
This can be done by anyone with access to the Issue, including the Issue Assignee.
To do this, select the Attach File icon from the text editing options. It will launch a window where you can select the file to attach. - Attach File to the Issue Object
This can only be done by the internal Issue Owner or other internal user with necessary permissions. It is available immediately after creating the issue.
To do this, simply find the Add Attachment button under the Issue Details Section. Once you select the button, it will launch a window to help you select the file to attach.
Managing Attachments
Once a file is attached you will see it appear in the table list under the Attachment field. Based on user permissions, there are a few things to remember:
- Viewing files
Select the file name hyperlink to open the document viewer - Downloading files
Select the Download icon - Deleting files
Select the Trash icon. A couple other things to remember:- You can only delete the files that you uploaded;
- To delete a file uploaded through a comment, you must delete the comment or edit the comment and remove the file.
- Add a file to the Vendor Details
Any file that is on the Issue can be added directly to the Vendor Details Document Repository. To do this, select the Add button alongside the corresponding file. This action will make a copy in the Vendor Details.
