Summary

While Whistic was created as an alternative to answering questionnaires via spreadsheets, it is occasionally helpful if you have completed a questionnaire outside of the platform and need to import it into Whistic.

Previously it was not possible to use non-Whistic templates (i.e. a CAIQ in the original CSA format) however, it is now possible to import spreadsheets like this by using the new Questionnaire Uploader.

This article is only for Non-Whistic templates. If you are using a Whistic template please refer to this article.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The below details must be followed before you upload the questionnaire or the upload will not be successful.

• All data must be combined into a single tab on the spreadsheet
• Data must be on the first tab of the spreadsheet
• The two required column headers must be Question Text and Answer
• The headers must begin in the first row of the spreadsheet, you cannot have a blank column in the first column
• Mapping is based on the question text so it is vital that changes have not been made to the original questions on the questionnaire
• If answering a Multiple Answer question the responses must be separated by semi-colons only. It cannot be a comma, colon, space, etc
• Ensure that all answers (Yes, No, N/A) are in the same column
• There can be no more than 25 column headers on the spreadsheet
• All data for a single question (question text, answers, and comments) must be on the same row except for answers that are simple (i.e. N/A, Yes, No, etc.) where they can be merged into one cell. (Merging these answers is optional)

 

Steps

1. Navigate to the Questionnaire, select the Import option then Import Other Template

   

2. This will take you to the Uploader Window where you can Select File to upload then select Next

   

3. Map the Whistic Values to Your Values then select Next

   1. You are required to map the Question Text and Answer but it is recommended that you map additional values to help map over more responses. (Comments, Section & Control Headings, and Question ID)

   

4. Review your mapping using the sample given then select Import when ready

   

You will see a pop-up once your import is done. When you close out of the pop-up if there are any unanswered questions that were not transferred or completed it will automatically filter to those unanswered questions.
